- Anyone interested in how climate-smart species are doing in the Netherlands is welcome to make the route along some 26 species themselves. The brochure that has just been published provides the route as well as more information on the trees themselves.

Already from the early 20th century, drought-tolerant species have been planted in Arboretum Oostereng and arrived via natural rejuvenation. In addition, the arboretum contains six Abies species with 23 provenances that are tested for growth and drought resistance. Arboretum Oostereng is therefore in a unique position to serve as an inspiration arboretum for LIFE Climate Forest. A demo tour of 26 climate-smart species has been set out in the arboretum.

The demo tour starts at the information board in front of the entrance to the arboretum. The individual trees and groups of trees on the demo tour are marked with a small blue label with a number. There is a map of the area with numbers and the indicated route at the back of the brochure.
