De Bosgroepen are independent cooperative associations of and for owners of forest and nature areas. They advise and unburden their members where it comes to sustainable management of forests and nature. Their expertise focuses on all aspects of management; from research, advice and drawing up a management or project plan to the implementation in the field. The approach is realistic and purposeful, based on expertise, years of experience and knowledge of the members and their areas. There are more than 1500 members in the three regional Bosgroepen, spread throughout the Netherlands. These are private individuals, foundations, country estates, care institutions, nature conservation organisations, water supply companies and governments such as water boards, defence, and municipalities. Together, the members own or manage more than 400,000 hectares of forest and nature. The Unie van Bosgroepen is the national overarching organisation and there are three regional Bosgroepen.
